"at the moment"

The motto of the 6th Biannual Ceramics Festival
will be “at the moment“.
The first impression this motto gives is that it is not clear which moment it is all about – differing interpretations are likely:

at the moment
at the first moment
at the last moment
at the same moment
at the right moment
at the wrong moment
at the critical moment
at the decisive moment

The appeal of the moment in relativeness of time – are we talking about “timeless now” in Arthur Schopenhauer or about the phenomenon of how to capture time as in Thomas Mann’s novel “The Magic Mountain”; to what extent “the content’s interestingness and novelty drives away or else shortens time while monotony and emptiness load and retard time.”

In his oeuvre “In search of lost time” Marcel Proust defines lost time as the time “which will be irrevocably lost if is not preserved in memory or in a piece of art”.

The impressions of one moment are manifold and diversified, so is its scope for design to be envisaged by the motto chosen by us. I am looking forward to the large amount of pieces of art to be entered in the 6th International Biannual Ceramics Festival in the city of Kapfenberg.
